I wish i would have took pictures of that, i basically took the tach completely appart and drilled a small hole for the needle shaft to go through... and gutted the plastics behind that area... ill take pics when i put my leds in there...

BTW, if you clear the needles then they'll be transparent and look weird because you'd see the numbers behind them.
I cleared mine and sprayed the backs white and they look perfect at night.

Man that looks sick... if pontiac made a truck lol at this point i could go red.... but my pioneer is all blue thats the only reason i want blue... gonna hafta do the HVAC too.... i used white model paint on my needles... didnt have the patience to tape it all off like you lol how did you like the little mirror in the needle? i thought that was clever on GM's part...

Some don't have light up ac/heater controls. Its weird.. my buddies 88 lights up but my 94 doesn't.

they light up green. kinda glad it did'nt show in the camera.
Im working on one now on my desk puttin the red leds in buttons.

Nope, just replaced stock bulbs with blue LEDs.

They all have lights behind the buttons, they just frequently don't work. Mine in my truck have never worked, but it has three bulbs in there.

Then mine had came from the dealership not working back in 94. My father told me they never lite up when he had the truck and he had it from 1994-2006. Mine are solid button and there is no indication that they should light up.

Take it apart, they are in there.  Like I said, mine don't light up either.
