Nice work on the tech page. Looks good

FYI - Personally, I don't know if this actually provides measurable gains or not. If anyone is researching this mod, here is a URL posted a while back (Henry?) on reasons not to do it:

I've seen that. Could there be something to the programming on the vehicle? If the Corvette is programmed to operate without the screen that would make sense? I have no idea, I'm just throwing it out there.

Has anyone dynoed an LS1 before and after de-screening the MAF to see the real difference?

Yes, I have done it to alot of my friends LS1's and they picked up 1 hp w/ a stock lid, more w/ a aftermarket lid. Plus, it's free and a Granitelli MAF actually hurts performance 99% of the time on those cars. Waste of 300 + bucks.

I heard the Granatelli doesn't provide gains.
Sounds like a decent mod if you don't F-up the MAF (something I would probably do)

The Granatelli MAF su(ks! It makes that cars run lean as all hell.

And even you King Tard can do it w/o messing it up. Sh*t, even Izzy did it.

Are you sure you're not ASE certified?

At the risk of pissing off all the 's and sticking to the topic, that article is a little dated (according to someone here i talked to) and doesnt really apply to the newer vortecs.

There have been a few people that have actually tested without the MAF and have documented actual gains.

I said screw it and did it anyway

Anyone with the 99+ notice any gain in throttle response? When I have it on tow/haul I notice alot of difference in TR but I don't like to use it because it eats gas. Shifts good, but the exhaust sounds alot different, not nearly as loud or deep.

1. Does the engine light come on when you descreen the sensor?

2. Is the sensor compromised in any way when driving either with the stock intake or later with an aftermarket intake?

3. Is the stock sensor expensive (in case I fk something up)?
