every time ive seen a resistor fail, its burned the connector too. take a look at both before you go buying parts, and more than likely youll be replacing both.

Yeah I know, but it was what I reached for fist. Should have clarified that.

Terrific post. Have a 1999 GMC Sierra. I heard about the possibility of a faulty resistor. Didn't have a clue where it was located. Pictures were worth a thousand words.
