Re: Rain leaking into cab
Update: As per instructed by someone on gm-trucks.com I removed the black strip along the drivers side of the window. It has like 5 torx screws holding in on. Then I siliconed the area next to the top of the windshield where the roof seam overlaps the pillar seam. Checked it this morning in the rain and...dry floor! WOO HOO!!!!

You pry back the door weatherstrip to get to them. The black molding strip has a lip that fits up into the door weatherstriping. I will try to get some after photos of where I siliconed when it stops raining here...

Ohh, this is for NBS trucks only right. I was wondering why I never saw that on my OBS trucks.

Re: Confirmed Fix For Passenger Side Leak!
I have a K3500 93 that is leaking like you described. I put silicone on the screw the second from the right on the passenger side and it still leaks. I am not sure which screw would leak into the air intake. Any help would be really appreciated. It leaks whenever it rains. thanks, tom

Re: Rain leaking into cab
On OBS:

Remove the plastic cowl. On of the cowl's anchor point is above
the air intake, this is the one that stips out and causes the leak, and it usualy happens when you have your windshield replaced.

I siliconed the crap out of the hole, let it dry, put more on then put the cowl back on. No more leak.

Thumbs up Re: Rain leaking into cab
ok,here we go i like most of you guys have a leaking problem on the pass. side of the cab, no it is not the heater core, a/c vent relief line. from what what i compiled from this site is uderneath the block off plate there is a fresh air vent. the seal on the vent needs to be re-sealed because the factory seal is junk. use plenty of black rvt dont be cautious on this. then reinstall the vent block off plate and put the cowl and wiper arms on. paint the area if you want but it is not needed
crossing the fingers hope it works once the rvt sets up
i will keep you guys posted

i was told by a friend at the local chevy dealership that on all 1996-2000 c/k trucks have this problem because the cowl was reformed in 1995 my farther has a 1988 k3500 and we removed the cowl on his truck and compaired it to my 1998 and they were completely different
ps: the truck only leaks when it is parked @ an angle because of the water pressure build-up against the vent wall/ seam

Re: Rain leaking into cab
Glad I could help. It completely stopped my leak and it was pretty bad before I fixed it.
