Toe in was @0.17 deg.
I have a completely stock 02 k1500 w/ z71 pk. I went to 3 places to get an est. on fixing my front end which shook over every lil bump. The 1st estimate was for a pitman arm (i replaced this 18 mo ago), the 2nd was for a pitman and idler assembly, and the third was realigned with the only problem being that the TOE was at 0.17 degs (spec is between -0.05 to 0.15 degs). The truck is handling the lil bumps much better now but the steering still seems not as tight before i noticed these probs. My question to you guys is-
Can the toe off by .02 degs cause so much of a difference on a stock set up?
Thanks for all the help in advance (both past and present!)

toe affects tire wear only unless you have some excessive ammount. if it was me id lok over the underside yourself you can tell if it bad or not.

OK... is 0.02 degrees an excessive amount? on the right wheel? I did look at it... nothing is shaking/popping ball joints are good and recent (both uppers replaced 4 months ago). The first two estimates that i got said that they could not even align my truck until i replaced the parts specified in my first post... then the 3rd place just aligned it with out sying anything.
The total TOE was changed from .28 degs to .18 overall... can this make a big difference besides the tire wear issue?

A lot of shops are just "toe and go" without looking at other specs or issues. That's not saying they're right or wrong.

If your toe is out, it can definitely cause some f-ed up tire wear.

15 years of alignments. Spec on those trucks is .10 + or - .10. If you push the button on the machine that says reduce tolerances it will drop the tolerances to .05+or-. Then the display shows red and the tech sells the unknowing customer and alignment because its "out of spec". Ive had to work with several guys over the uears that did that and its sad. .10 off of spec will not make ANY difference. .20 may show up on long term tire wear. .30 will show up fairly early. .02 is a crook trying to take your money. Raise it up and set it back down and it will probably change .02. Ass holes like that make it hard for the honest techs to make a living.
