Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
I agree with the fuel idea. The Toyota I had before the Silverado leaned bad when full of fuel. Leveled out when low. Think about it this way; 20 gallons of fuel at roughly 10 lb per gallon all on the left side. Take measurement at both fuel levels and see what happens. Just a thought.

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
I took my truck in to have them install these spacers but the dealership has to try to find a set. GM must not make many of them?? I have been waiting for months now. I just want to get them on so I can lower my truck!! -------Jeremy

It probably leans because the battery and fuel cell plus driver are all on the left side. My 2001 Silverado does this also. I swapped springs from one side to the other and it remained the same. I think I need a 1" spacer that goes under the spring to fix the problem. |

GM Parts Direct carries them. The spacer is $6.60 and the u-bolt is $8.88 plus shipping. Does the spacer just lifts the left side (driver's side up to balance the right side being lower? |

gasoline is about 6.25 lb/gal, and the spring rate should accomodate a mere 125lbs without much of a change in ride height. |

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
I own a 2001 1/2 ton 2WD, i went to the extent of changing the whole coil spring on the LF and it didn't make much of a difference. I also thought of another cause too, if you have a weak LR leaf spring, it would do the same thing. It would lift the RF higher than the LF. I corrected that by putting a set of air shocks on the rear, and pumping the LR more than the RR.

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
the problem is in the left rear of the truck, next time you see a transport truck look at the way the chevy,s are tie down. i work for a chevy dealership as an auto body tech and a few years ago we got paid by gm to correct the tweak on the frame. the problem is these truck are tied down on the front, and only on the left rear, and they actually twist the frame down a bit from the backside of the cab.

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
This spacer for the drivers rear only lifts the truck 1/2" right? I am about 1 1/8" off with the front level. Can I use two spacers and the same u-bolts? Will these spacers cause anyproblems with a drop kit?

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
before you do that just buy a 1" block from your auto parts store. And before that, try swaping leafspring, and your coils(left to right). and even before that check and mesure on a very flat surface, with the wheels straight and no load, with even tire pressure(this assumes your shocks are good also)that it still sits unlevel. its just that there are a lot of variables when it comes to the "chevy lean"

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
Yeah I have been through the whole truck trying to fix this ever since I bought it. The leafs have been changed out with new ones an the whole nine yards. The truck needs to be lifted on the drivers rear 1 1/8" to be level. I would like to accomplish the difference without using lifting blocks and using shackles instead. I just dont like the idea of have blocks to raise it and then shackles to lower it. If I can ise the different hoes in the 2" lowering shackles, that the way I'd like to go. Will this work? Is that the reason for the two holes in the belltech shackles?

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
I just ordered the shackles and spacer, from my local dealer. so i hope that it fixes the problem. Now that you mention it that seems like the easiest fix

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
I ended up getting McGauphy's lowering shackles. They are adjustable between 1" and 2" so this will work since I am lowering the truck anyways. Now I just have to put the whole kit on!!! -----Jeremy

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
Indeed, thanks for the info !!
I have been searching high & low to fix the lean. I have a 2006 Silverado Z-71 Crew Cab. I was measuring fender height before I installed new ford torsion keys. I noticed my driver's side rear was about 1/2" lower. The only problem is my truck already has 2" blocks on it, this would mean I have to stack them which I have heard is a NO NO. Any other advice ? Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
I have a 07 1500 2WD NBS that is 3/4 inch lower on the driver side. Will this be fixed under warranty if I bring it back to the dealer?

Re: Chevy Lean **updated 9/19/06**
