Angry WTF? My new 200 alt wont fit?
Im going to shoot a email to their tech guys but first I thought I would run it by you guys.

I went ahead and bought a Powermaster #47864 200 Amp Street Alternator for my '94 350 (summitracing.com) It SAYS it fits my year but it wont fit in the stock bracket. Has anyone installed a similar 200 amp alt and run into this problem?

Did your 1994 come with or without air conditioning? Reason I ask is some had a different mount bracket.

Re: WTF? My new 200 alt wont fit?
they made 2 differant sizes or as GM calls them a small and large frame, contact powermaster for the correct part number and have your old one on hand so you can tell them the part number on it.

There's what looks like an old metal bushing in the bigger of the holes. How can I tell if its adjustable? It just looks like a regular old metal bushing.

Re: WTF? My new 200 alt wont fit?
You have to remember that the 85-100 amp. units are a
lot smaller in size than the 140-160 amp. units
that would come in the VYU plow prep. equipped trucks.

You may have to order the brackets from a VYU truck!

There are side by side pics here somewhere around here.

Note the size difference in the stock 85 amp unit
vs. the 140 amp unit

Re: WTF? My new 200 alt wont fit?
VYU is the RPO code for the snow plow prep. option
on late model GM trucks.

I can only assume you would have to tell the parts
guy this to get the different size/position alt.
brackets for your new larger alt. to fit in your
truck in place of the stock unit.

If your gonna look in the scrapyard for donor brackets
look for this code on the RPO list in the glove box.
