Hello, I bought a truck with the VIN 2GCEK19N241127024 (2004 Silverado SS)on 02/21/2008, the problem is, that the Vehicle Emission Control Information from GM with the Enginecode "6.0 liter GMX....."and following is missing. Witout these numbers i am not able to get a vehicle registration!!!
If you could find out a number for me I am deeply gratefull

daeman, you have a tailgate strap recall as well, along with an SDM campaign open.

chevyeurope, nothing ,like that comes up in VIS. where would that information be found? is it on an underhood label, or the paperwork that GM sent?

everyone elses is either too old, or has no open campaigns.

Thanks BewstAdd1ct! I will get it over to the dealer and have the tailgate straps replaced as soon as I get my truck back from my other mechanic for having the crankshaft sensor replaced. They had to seperate the tranny from the engine and slide the engine forward to get the old sensor out of the block! They tried for 2 days to do it without moving the engine forward. Truck was stalling whenever it wanted to....was like someone turned the key off on me while driving down the road! Thanks again for your help! Good luck with the new SS!
