Accidentally put 1 qt Type F fluid in my Chevy Transmission, now what?
After replacing the i-ring on the sped sensor to fix a leak, I grabbed a quart of trans fluid from the shelf thinking it was some that bought just for this, after pouring the quart in, I realized it was Type F instead of the Dexron I had been using.

Now I took the sensor back out and jacked the front of the truck to let some of the fluid drain out, but I don't think it's draining much.

Can I go ahead and finishing filling with the correct fluid and
Just go with it?

The truck has 290K miles, the transmission fluid and filter were changed at about 275K. We have been having to put a quart in every month or so becasue of the speed sensor leak.

Thanks

Doug

Yeah...don't worry. We used Type F in all of our race Powerglides. The Type F will actually make that trans shift harder. With 290K on it, if it goes out it wasn't because of the Type F.

So running type F in my 700r4 will make it shift harder? How bad would it be for it?
