High Output Alternator Recommendations?
I need to buy a HO alternator, as my stocker has bit the dust. I have a painless 4-hi headlight mod, dual battery kit, a couple KC 8" offroad lights, and a stereo. I'm thinking a 200amp should do just fine. Was looking for suggestions on a good brand to go with? I was looking at mean-green or Motor City Reman. Are these good brands?

Also, I'm not sure what year alternator to buy. It's a carb'd 350 with 305 heads on it. Block number is 3970010 which is a '69 to '80 I believe, and head numbers are 14014416 which are '80-'85 if I recall correctly.

The alternator that came off it was a one wire unit. Any way to tell which year alternator I need to order?

F yes to MCR. I bought a 240 from him and he has the best customer service ever. Honestly, I think if I have a problem installing he would have walked me through it on the phone. He's great. Call him and tell him what you're working with and he'll set you up.

Also, look into Iraggi before you look at Mean Green. Excessive Amperage is also very good.

Wrangler NW Power Products also makes alternators for your truck, but they are pricey.
2002 Silverado 1500, Magnaflow single side exit, Alcoa 17" Classic Wheels, Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor 275/70/R17, Taylor 409 plug wires, AC Delco Iridium Plugs, Rough Country Leveling Kit, So Far...

Motor City Reman
1999 Tahoe LS 2-Door 4x4. Blackbear custom tune. TransGo shift kit and Corvette 1 - 2servo going in shortly.

Brakestands make for great aroma therapy.
