Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
Ok so i moved out of the area for work and now im 3 hours away from home. I need to change my oil and i dont have any floor jacks, or ramps here....So how would you all change your oil?
If my lift was on i'd be fine
Im seriously thinking about pulling on to some curb somewhere and changing my oil in a parking lot

Re: Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
I never jack my truck up to change the oil. i just slide a pan under there, reach under and undo the bolt, then while thats draining I change the filter. All your gotta do is watch for the hot exhaust.
I have cranked the t-bars only bout 1.5" in front, and I have some mud terrains (285/75/16) so i assume it sits just a lil bit higher, but not much.
Oh and I'm 6', 207 lbs and I can still squeeze under it. Its a waste of time to get out the jack and stands for me...

Re: Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
I have never jacked my truck up to change the oil. Like posted above, I just slide under there & drain the oil. There was never a problem fitting under there before the lift with stock 245's on there. The 285's made it easier, & of course the 6" lift with 315's makes it a breeze.

Re: Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
When my truck was stock height I could easily fit under it to change the oil without jacking it up or putting it on ramps. It was actually easier to do then than it is now, because now I have to prop myself up at an awkward angle to change the oil.

Re: Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
Unless it's lowered or 2wd, you ought to be able to crawl under there no problem. Ramps are nice, but not necessary for a 4WD truck like yours.

Re: Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
At work we have a raised sidewalk around the building. When I change the oil here, while I'm already dirty, I just do the sidewalk / curb thing.

Re: Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
Take it to get done That's what I do. A normal oil change cost me 19 dollars, synthetic cost me like 50 and thats a full oil change with topping off all the fluids and an over look.

Re: Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
I put mine on ramps and use all the extensions I can get, I never just crawl under it, as I'm very claustrophobic and do not like being under vehicles at all.

Re: Oil Change Dilemma.....what to do
I got it done, i just found a parking lot with those little concrete stop things at the end and pulled up on that. It worked really well, I tried to just lay under but it dont work for me, i cant stand everything in my face, the cats are hot as fvck and i feel cramped.
Oh and the synthetic oil change here is 89.99 plus BS shop fees so prob like $100...no fuvking way im paying someone $65 in labor for 15min of work
