Is Craftsman for real?
Is Sears for real with this tool box? Neon Underglow, Ipod holder, 12volt power outlet, LCD clock with timer and temp, pull out lighting to help us find tools. This is as bad as the LED on the jack pad. I saw it the other day as I was walking through Sears. I can see the built-in clock and power outlets, but neon and timer and temp, please. As for the pull out lighting to find tools, the drawers are so small, how can you lose anything in there.

Re: Is Craftsman for real?
I think Sears is getting way too far into the "tool collector" thing - like an engraved, unobtainum plated ratchet in a fitted walnut case with an engraved brass plaque that says "Special Edition." I think there are a subspecies of people out there who buy tools but never use 'em. Sounds perverted to me, but what the hell, everybody gets to spend their money their own way.

To get back on topic: "Sorry, boss. I couldn't make flat rate on that brake job because my tool box had dead batteries."

I crack myself up.

Snapon has sold collector type tools for many years. Not something I'm after but people buy them and collect them

Yes, but the SO boxes are about paint and are still a SO toolbox. This is just gimmick $@^% added on to charge more. Craftsman, are you listening, drop the gimmick stuff and build in quality. Yes, I have owned Craftsman boxes and as long as they sit in a corner and don't move, there great. Just don't try to move them when there loaded with tools.

Just my opinion. Kind of like a presentation grade shotgun with engraving and inlay. A work of art, yes, but you wouldn't want to take it out in the brush on a drizzly wet day because it's too nice. I'm a functionality type of guy - a wrench is for wrenching and a shotgun is for shooting some quail.

Quail - broiled with a strip of bacon. Yum. Look out for the shot.

Re: Is Craftsman for real?
I kinda like it, very convienent with the 12 cig. lighter, pull out drawer, 120v on it. I think its sears way of keeping up with the times seeing as almost everyones got a ipod or expensive ass phone thats gonna need recharging. Put your radio on top, battery charger for you cordless impact gun on there too! One plug to plug in and your done, roll where ever you gotta go. Would i buy it, hell no, but i would take it for FREE!!!!!

Mac has been doing stuff like that for years. You can get custom wheels and custom handles for your mac boxes.

I like it...especially the orange one. Seriously considering this for the race trailer.

Exactly. Why have it if you can't use it? I'm all for owning nice stuff. If you're gonna buy it, take care of it, but enjoy it!

If someone gave me that tool box I think I would return it & get a bigger one for the same price.

All the useless gimmicks & gadgets out there kind of annoy me, but more power to them if they are selling & making money. The Apple I-phone is a perfect example of neat tricks, but it doesn't do anything useful that some other phones don't already do better.

I saw it during black friday, I thought it was kinda neat looking but fear that people would make fun of whoever would own one.
