Finally getting my shop built!!
After a year of raising funds and dreaming I plunked down the money yesterday at Menard's for my building package. 30x32x10 stick frame shop. 1 9x8 overhead door, 1 9x9. I'm so jacked. If it'll quit raining I can go out and start moving some gravel around to get the concrete forms ready. Finally I can get all my tools in one place and do some of the projects I've been waiting to start for so long.

Re: Finally getting my shop built!!
I don't know if I can post any pics or not. I have really crappy dial up. Maybe if I take my laptop to town sometime. The plan is to pour the concrete next week and then the materials will be here about the middle of May....so, hopefully by June I'll be good to go!!

Re: Finally getting my shop built!!
If you can get a compactor, go nuts on the gravel before you pour. We compacted our gravel pretty much everyday after wetting it down and it got hard as a rock. Poured a four inch floor and there are no cracks after our first winter. Also try and get the gravel as level as possible, low spots can make for a lot of extra concrete and that stuff isn't cheap.

Just wait till its done, its so nice to have a place where all the tools are organized and you can keep stuff out of the weather.

Re: Finally getting my shop built!!
I'd love to do roughly the same thing, sounds like the size I was looking for. That's the problem with having toys... need a shop to store them all.
