Any body plow snow?
I know it is early to start thinking about snow plowing. I just bought a truck with a plow and was wondering how much lift can I do and still be able to plow. I don't want to get into modifying the plow rig or my frame. I was only going to go 2.5 inches at first but the 4 inch kit is only $50 more

Re: Any body plow snow?
Your asking for trouble !
A lift throws off the plow scraping angle to the ground.
But do what ya want.

Re: Any body plow snow?
If you want to do zero mods to your plow frame you can't do much over stock or at best leveled for your truck.
What kinda truck and plow are we talking here? Some have a bit more adjustability then others.
Edit, and it's never to early to be talking of snow, lots of guys are putting bids out very soon for lots they wish to get the account for this winter.

Re: Any body plow snow?
i plow with my 82 k10 with a 2.5 inch lift and 33's. the angle of the plow is fine, just use the top holes on the plow frame, i haven't had any problems yet. but i only plowed for one season with it....
contract agreements went out today, i only do driveways, so probably get most of them back...

I'm assuming being an older truck your running a conventional mount (where just the blade comes off, lights and pump stay on the truck). Those are harder to adjust for height I'm assuming compared to the newer styles where the only think left on the truck is a mount under the front bumper. Depending on your setup your truck sitting 3-4" higher then stock shouldn't be to big of a problem. One thing you want to remember is to keep the A frame (where the angle cylinders attach and the bottom of the plow that hooks to the truck) parallel to the ground the best you can.

and my 80 K2500 with 2.5" AAL and 33s is too high. there is no more adjustment.
need to see what i can do about modifying the frame before this winter. i've spent the last 2 winters not being able to back drag for sh!t. really sucks on the driveways. of course, i need to worry about getting the automatic in the truck, and the new injected motor first...

Re: Any body plow snow?
Well im looking to get into the business. I mow 15 apartments for one guy in the summer and they all have lots that have a 6 car carport and a driveway then a few driveways here and there. How much do you usually charge for that sorta stuff? Im trying to see if it would be a wise investment for me to buy a plow setup for my truck. Then i gotta find a cheap plow that fits the truck.
