Agreed!

Re: Holiday trailer + quad? 240 lbs overloaded?

OK! Yes agreed! And it was waaaay more than I have ever, and probably will ever tow with my truck, but like I implied, it was out of necessity and a short distance on a Sunday when most folks are sleeping in.

But don't bet on the fact that I have a factory hitch. The trailer had brakes on both axles and I have a controller, and extra leafs and a 12,000 lb hitch. I would of loved to have used my equalizer bars, but the skid steer trailer I borrowed didn't have the mounts and I didn't have time to put them on.

I definitely don't advocate overloading! Even our TT at 5700 lbs. with brakes makes the truck work for it's money. Very much like when I drive my buddies semi pulling the low bed with his 320 excavator on it. It's not something you normally want to screw around with.

Out of necessity you should have got the truck that is used to pull it or leave it sit until you could have.
Sunday when everyone's alseep and being on backroads means nothing. It's still stupid. Their are still people on the road 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Regardless of the day of the week, time of day, or location, it's still just as easy to kill someone cause you thought.
