Just got it at work myself. So far I'm lovin' it! I don't know about 3D painting, but the new OpenGL rendering has smoothed out transitions and allows you to rotate the canvas itself. For what I do, that comes in handy. Of course, I had to re-assign the R key back to Smudge/Blur/Sharpen and turn off the pixel grid that displays when you zoom in super close. It's kinda screwy to look at. But so far CS4 kicks ass. Even Illustrator, I must say. And I HATE Illustrator. The last few iterations have been to quirky, but this version is much easier to use (resembling v8) and has been more stable for me. Maybe they've borrowed a couple guys from the Photoshop team.
