New member from SF Bay Area with an '04

Well i'm new to this forum, but have been on Chevrolet Forums for a while. In the past i've owned a K5 Blazer and a 1998.5 Audi A4. I was and still am a active member of AudZine where i do a good amount of side work for friends and fellow members.

About a year ago i bought my truck as is.
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
5.3L V8 4WD Automatic
17" Pro Comp Alloy Wheels
ProComp 4" lift

Since then i've added the following.
Black Billet Aluminum Grill Insert
35x12.5 Wild Country tires
SuperChips programmer
Cherry Bomb Glasspack muffler after the Y-pipe
6000k HID kit
Pioneer Stereo w/ Bazooka Tube (nothing crazy)
Eaton Posi Rear differential
K&N Drop in Filter

Over all i'm happy with the truck, but it could always be faster. Then again... it is my work truck so i can't complain too much.

Perfect truck for being in High School. It had the 5.7 V8 and the 4wd was great. I wouldn't mind getting another one, but i hated that motor. Maybe if it had a crate 350 or something along those lines.

Re: New member from SF Bay Area with an '04

I found the grill at a local 4x4 shop that has since closed...

I'm wish it was a 6" lift, but i measured the blocks at the rear axle and they are only 4 inches.

The truck should be sitting ~2 inches higher, but i loaded way too much material for work and killed it.

Re: New member from SF Bay Area with an '04

How so?

From the tire up or from the axle center up?

Re: New member from SF Bay Area with an '04

either way works, most people measure from the ground up if its on level ground. axle gives you more accurate measurement i think.

well, if it was a 81-86 it had the carb'd 350 that was smogged out just for California and had a "whopping" 165 hp. it wasn't really any better than the 305 you got in the other 49-state-purchased K5's...which had 160. now, in 1987, you got the TBI 350 with 190 hp (CA rating, 210 elsewhere) and that was better...but with the 165-hp version, i see why you aren't real impressed...i have the 305 in mine...it does alright for a 305 but it's still a...305...
