Required newb post

This is my required newb post so all the old timers dont get their panties in a wad when I start posting. I am a member on several other forums either under Streak for recreational use or on the racing sites under my real name John Brady for work/recreational use. I work for XS Power batteries formerly Powermaster. So i know my sh!t about automotive electrical stuff and have been around cars and trucks all my life. I used to be a certified auto tech, haven't done that in 10 years though. I have worked on everyrthing except planes and trains. Anything else just ask me...

Re: Required newb post

Welcome bro! So you know a lot about electrical stuff...let me ask you a question STREAK..what can cause my rear hatch and my door locks stop working? I tried messing with the cigarrete lighter with a fuse checker and the rear hatch, door locks started working then all of a sudden it stops. I know there's a short some where. How can I solve this problem?

Re: Required newb post

I always start with the simple stuff first. Check to make sure the locks are the only thing not working. Then go to the fuses and relays and check those. If its none of that stuff for sure. Then get a manual with the wiring schematic and start chasing wires at that point. When chasing wires I always do a quick look around for a place that could have are pinched or chafed first thast usually finds the problem. Also if you were to have a shorted lock actuator on any of the locks it could also cause the problem. Electrical problems like this usually end up being a fuse or something, rarely is it something really technical.
