just got a DSLR...canon rebel XS, i love it so far...

one of the best parts is that my dad has 23 y/o lenses from his old EOS 650 that he gave me, a nifty 50 and 100-200mm telephoto

practicing all day led me to these, all pics taken were on full manual mode.

Your DOF on them all looks pretty good, I'd play around with your exposures lengths a little bit. The first one of the GF looks a tad over exposed, where some of the others look like they may be a touch underexposed. You're being ballsier than I was, I didn't start shooting manual for a good while after I got mine, just because of trying to figure out what worked.

Will try that. On all of them I tried to duplicate the way I saw everything in the viewfinder, to be as natural as i could.

i agree being a lil overexposed on the first couple, but imo not by much
