probably gonna pick one up this week. what to get a good deal on one? any tips, tricks, thoughts or opinions?

i want nikon due to the fact that is what my dad has (old 35mm) and my brother (d80) so i can share lenses with them and don't have to buy a bunch to start off with. the D3000 seems to be a decent camera. i want the 5000 with video but it is a bit out of my price range.

so far best deal i have found is on bestbuy.com, camera, case, 18-55 lens and 55-200 lens for $630

Re: D3000?

I have the older verson of it, the D60. Main thing to keep in mine is that it will not auto focus with Screw (mechanical) focus lenses. You have to go all the way to the D80/D90 level for both lenses to work. Other then that, is a great camera. I would suggest doing some reading over at Photo.net for some other opinions.
