No give in obs rear suspension after mods

My truck rides very rough in the rear, so stiff that the truck is hard to control on the interstate. If I put about 100 to 150 pounds at the rear of the bed, all of my problems go away.

Plenty of these trucks have weight taken off the back while being leveled, they can't all have this problem. I think it is the shocks binding up or the worn springs binding up maybe?

Someone please help me understand my problem. Here are the facts

1988 rclb 215,000 miles
lowering shackles 1" setting
overload springs removed
no bumper
no spare tire
stock shocks

I would put your spare tire back on, thats 1/2 the weight you are putting in the bed anyways. I would then get some spray oil and soak in between the spring leaves and see if that helps. They may be binding. If that does help, taking the springs apart and cleaning and greasing between them isnt that difficult. New shocks probably wouldnt hurt

The springs were my thought too. I had them off a number of years ago and the pads between the leaves were very worn. I think there may be some rusty metal on rusty metal rubbing going on.

I'm going to put a bumper back on, I might grab some springs from the junk yard or do drop leafs.
